The Urban Poor Ministry reaches out to disadvantaged individuals and families within our parish boundaries, regardless of race or religion, responding to those facing financial hardship with compassion and dignity.
Through food assistance, emergency aid, family adoption programmes, and community empowerment initiatives, we seek not only to meet immediate needs but also to encourage long-term self-reliance, resilience, and hope.
Today, the ministry provides monthly food assistance to approximately 67 migrant and refugee families, supports 12–15 urban poor families, and offers one-off emergency assistance to walk-in individuals and families who come to the parish seeking help. Each case is assessed carefully to ensure that assistance reaches those most in need.
Inspired by Christ’s call to serve “the least of these” (Matthew 25:40), we strive to be a welcoming presence, accompanying every person with respect, compassion, and practical support on their journey towards a better future.
