CANCER SUPPORT GROUP
Called Connect with Cancer, this is a support group for those who are suffering from cancer or who have been through cancer. Sometimes it is hard to share feelings with friends or even with family members; it helps to be with those sharing a similar experience. Together, this group is a lifeline of moral support for each other. They make a difference in coping, especially with the treatments they have to undergo.
CATHOLIC MARRIAGE PREPARATION COURSE (CMPC)
In SIC this is a mandatory seven to eight-week programme for Engaged Couples, one or both of whom are Catholics and who wish to marry in Church. The purpose of CMPC is to prepare couples for Catholic marriage and the vocation of family life and love. Sessions are held once a week on Saturdays or Sundays. Typically, four courses are held in one year.
This group was formed to provide charitable service to the community through a common love of music and singing. The Singers’ objectives are:-
MARRIAGE ENCOUNTER (ME)
ME is a weekend programme designed to help married couples to improve their marriage, grow closer to each other, and deepen their commitment to each other. The weekend is live-in from Friday evening to Sunday evening, over the course of which, attending couples are encouraged to communicate with one another with mutual respect, always based upon the essential principle of inviting God into their lives. ME is open to couples married five years and more.
MOVING ON SINGLE AGAIN (MOSA)
This support group is for women and men in all Single Again situations:
The mission of the Single Again Ministry is:
To facilitate the above goals MOSA will bring in those who are equipped to broach the issues facing the Single Again. MOSA is a message of hope – that there are people in the community people in this situation can come to and who will support them.
PARENTS GROUP (PG)
PG’s main activities are organising craft sessions where members learn how to make attractive crafts which are then sold to raise funds for charity.
SENIOR CITIZENS’ GROUP (SCG)
SCG is open to parishioners of SIC agreed 50 years and above. This group was formed with the following aims:-
