MISSION & GOAL
To facilitate the social, emotional, spiritual and physical well-being of the Senior Citizens within our Parish (and those of other parishes who wish to join our group) as well as encourage and bring our seniors closer so as to participate in our Parish activities.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manning of service counter on Saturdays before and after the 6 Mass and on Sundays mornings before and after the 8.45 am Mass. Services rendered: Collection of stipends – Mass Offerings; Registration of new members; Registration of members going on pilgrimages and tours.
- Organisation of trips, tours and pilgrimages.
- Organisation of events for Father’s and Mother’s day.
- Organisation of tea fellowship.
- Prayer chain – members requiring prayers for themselves/ family and friends. The requests can be written down and forwarded at the counter. This is strictly confidential and no name need be mentioned.
- Organisation of annual dinner and dance.
- Organisation of AGM and any other activities deemed appropriate.
MEMBERSHIP
The SCG is open to parishioners of St Ignatius Church aged 50 years and above. Membership forms are available from the Church Service Counter on Sundays before and after the 8.45 am Mass.
