Parish Integral Human Development Ministry

“Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me”
Matthew 25:40

OUR VISION & MISSION

Inspired by the Gospel and the Church’s social mission, the Parish Integral Human Development Ministry (PIHDM) seeks to be a channel of God’s love and compassion to those in need.

We are committed to proclaiming the Good News through service by reaching out to the poor, the vulnerable, the sick, the lonely, and those experiencing hardship. Through our ministries, programmes, and community outreach, we strive to foster the holistic development of every person—addressing not only physical needs, but also social, emotional, educational, and spiritual well-being.

OUR HALLMARK

At PIHDM, we believe that authentic Christian service embraces the whole person.

Our ministries go beyond providing immediate relief by empowering individuals and families towards dignity, self-reliance, and lasting transformation. Guided by the principles of Catholic Social Teaching, we seek to promote justice, compassion, solidarity, and care for creation in all that we do.

We also recognise that serving the community is a shared mission. Together with our parish ministries, Basic Ecclesial Communities (BECs), volunteers, and partner organisations, we collaborate to build a more caring, inclusive, and compassionate parish family.

WHAT WE DO

Children Education Group (CEG)

Formerly known as the Children Learning Centre (CLC), the Children Education Group (CEG) provides educational support for preschool and school-going children through weekly tuition and academic guidance. The ministry also offers financial assistance to deserving B40 secondary school students who demonstrate academic potential and commitment to their education.

Creation Justice

We promote environmental stewardship through recycling, waste reduction, and sustainable living initiatives. Recyclable and reusable items collected are either repurposed or sold through the Thrift Shoppe, with proceeds supporting PIHDM’s charitable programmes.

Migrants & Refugees

We extend compassionate support to migrants and refugees by providing financial assistance, food provisions, medical aid, and other essential necessities to help them navigate challenging circumstances with dignity.

Society of St Vincent de Paul (SSVP)

We work closely with the Society of St Vincent de Paul (SSVP) in supporting educational initiatives for children and vulnerable families. We invite you to learn more about their ministry and Rumah Kanak-Kanak Impian, which provides care and support for children in need.

Student Hostel

We support students from East Malaysia who are pursuing their studies in Klang Valley. Besides providing accommodation assistance, we help students integrate into parish life, build friendships, and become active members of the St Ignatius Church community.

Thrift Shoppe

We collect donated clothing, household items, appliances, books, and other reusable goods. Proceeds from sales are channelled towards PIHDM’s outreach programmes, while suitable items are distributed directly to underprivileged families and communities.

Urban Poor

The Urban Poor group serves disadvantaged families living within our parish boundaries, regardless of race or religion. Through food assistance, emergency aid, family adoption programmes, and community empowerment initiatives, we help families meet their basic needs while encouraging long-term self-reliance and hope.

Archdiocesan Office of Human Development (AOHD)

PIHDM serves as the parish liaison for the Archdiocesan Office of Human Development (AOHD), coordinating the annual Lenten Campaign and supporting various diocesan programmes and initiatives that promote justice, peace, and integral human development. For more information about AOHD and its ministries, please visit the AOHD website.
