Rev Fr Andrew Wong Choong Wing, CDD, Parish Priest

Fr Andrew was born in Ipoh, Perak, in 1968 and joined the Congregation of the Disciples of the Lord (CDD) in 2002.

In 2004, Fr Andrew made his first vows and began his studies in Philosophy at the St Thomas Aquinas Seminary in Taiwan. He returned to Malaysia in 2006 for a one-year pastoral stint at St Ignatius Church (SIC) in Petaling Jaya (6 months), Sacred Heart Church, Bentong (3 months) and Costantini Research Centre (three months).

In 2007, Fr Andrew commence further studies in Theology at Fu Jen Catholic University, Taiwan, and graduated three years later with a Master of Divinity & Baccalaureate in Sacred Theology. He took his perpetual vow in 2010 at the CDD Formation House, Malacca and was ordained as Deacon on 28 June 2011 at the Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Malacca.

Five months later, on 30 November 2011, he was ordained as a priest at Church of St Michael in Ipoh. Fr Andrew served as Assistant Parish Priest of SIC from 1 December 2011 to 30 June 2016, and was appointed Parish Priest on 1 July 2016. In 2020, he was elected Provincial of CDD Malaysia.


Rev Fr Lawrence Ng, CDD, Assistant Parish Priest

Fr Lawrence Ng belongs to the Congregatio Discipulorum Domini (CDD), known as Congregation of the Disciples of the Lord. He was born and grew up in Melaka. He comes from a Catholic family of two sisters and a brother, he being number three. At age of 12, Fr Lawrence attended a priestly ordination and that was what attracted him to become a priest that was the seed of vocation planted in his heart which was encouraged by his parents. After participation in a vocation camp organised by the Congregatio Discipulorum Domini, Fr Lawrence went into a continuous reflection on his call to join the religious order. 

In February 2000, he joined the CDD as a postulant. After six months, Fr Lawrence was admitted as a novice and sent to the novitiate in Yang Ming Shan, Taiwan for a year. On 1 September  2001, He took his First profession vows in the Heng Yi School in Xin Zhuang, Taipei in conjunction with CDD’s anniversary. Then he studied philosophy in Catholic Regional Seminary, Taipei for two years. During the period of 2003 to 2004, he was sent back to Malaysia for Vocation Reflection Year and served at Costantini Research Centre and Church of St Ignatius in Petaling Jaya, Selangor. 

After his vocation reflection year, Fr Lawrence returned to Taipei, Taiwan for three years to study Theology. After his graduation in Theology in June, 2007, he continue to serve at Costantinian Magazine (Heng Yi) in Xinzhuang in conjunction with his vocation discernment.  

In August 2008, he returned to homeland Malaysia at Costantini Research Centre to apprentice his congregation’s mission works in publication. 

On 25 August 2008, he professed his permanent vows in the Provincial House in Melaka and was officially accepted into the brotherhood of CDD. He was ordained as a deacon on 13 December of the same year. After his final vows, Fr Lawrence was dispatched by CDD to serve at Costantini Research Center as Director and Spiritual Director. He also served as Spiritual Director of Mustard Seed Evangelisation Center and Cahaya Puri Sdn Bhd until 31 July 2014.

Fr Lawrence Ng, CDD and other four deacons received the Holy Sacrament of Orders and were ordained as priests by Archbishop Murphy Pakiam in St John’s Cathedral in Kuala Lumpur on February 2, 2009. After his ordination, Fr Lawrence continued to serve in the Costantini Research Centre, Mustard Seed Evangelisation Center and Cahaya Puri Sdn Bhd. 

On 1 August 2014, Fr Lawrence was commissioned by his Order to serve in CDD Novitiate, Melaka as Novice Master. And he was dispatched by CDD to serve at Church of the Visitation, Seremban on 1st August, 2015 as assistant parish priest for 11 months. Fr Lawrence was appointed as assistant parish priest for St Ignatius Church, Petaling Jaya on 1 July 2016. In 2020, he was elected Vice-Provincial of CDD Malaysia. 


Rev Fr Martin Then Jin Vui, CDD, Second Assistant Parish Priest

Fr Martin was born on 13 April 1971 in Kuching, Sarawak. He was baptised on 6 June 1971 with St Martin de Porres as his patron saint, and received the Sacrament of Confirmation on 4 August 1985. After joining the Congregation of the Disciples of the Lord (CDD) as a postulant in 1989, Fr Martin was sent to the novitiate in Taiwan on 15 August 1992. After spending a year there, he took his first vows. From 1995 to 2000, he studied philosophy at Catholic Regional Seminary in Taipei (two years) and theology at Fu Jen Catholic University, Taipei (three years).

On 12 August 2000, Fr Martin took his final vows in Taiwan and returned to Malaysia on 31 October 2000. He began pastoral training in SIC for a year beginning from September 2000 and was ordained as Deacon on 25 July 2001 at SIC. Eight months later, on 6 April 2002, he was ordained to the priesthood at St Joseph's Cathedral in Kuching.

After his ordination, Fr Martin served as Assistant Parish Priest at St Theresa Church, Malacca (April 2002 - August 2004) & SIC (2004-2007). As part of his ongoing formation, he was in the Philippines for studies at the Institute for Consecrated Life in Asia, East Asian Pastoral Institute, Southeast Asia Instructional Development Institute, and Asian Religious Formation Institute from 2008 to 2010.

On returning to Malaysia, Fr Martin was appointed Parish Priest of Church of the Holy Name of Jesus in Penang (2010-2015), Assisting Priest at St Theresa Church in Malacca (2015-2017) and CDD Postulant Master at CDD House, Malacca (2015-2020). Fr Martin – who is well-versed in Mandarin, English, Bahasa Malaysia & Hakka – returned to serve in SIC as Second Assistant Parish Priest on 1 September 2020.
