A hundred more than the expected 500 parishioners who had registered turned up at the St Ignatius Church (SIC) Appreciation Fellowship on Saturday 30 December 2017 which started at 7.30 pm. Instead of the practice of ministries and BECs organising their own year-end gatherings, SIC as a parish this year organised a single dinner to show its appreciation for the efforts and dedication of its diverse communities united as the People of God – of one Lord, one faith, one baptism.

SIC Parish Priest Fr Andrew Wong CDD kicked off the event with a recap of major events & developments which took place at the church over the past 12 months. Fr Andrew reiterated that, together with Assistant Parish Priest Fr Lawrence Ng CDD, they will work with parishioners towards achieving the 2018-2019 parish pastoral theme – For the Greater Glory of God – and work, pray & lead as one team and one church. Also present were Fr Lucas Ng (Provincial, CDD priests in Malaysia), Fr Francis Ng CDD, Fr Stephen Ng CDD, Brother Joseph Lim CDD and a few nuns.

Parishioners put up various song and dance items, erhu and unicycle performances, and a Biblical play. There were also lucky draws in between. What brought the house down was a special song & dance performance by PPAPB (Parish Priest, Assistant Priest, Brother & Bahasa Malaysia group). Shortly after 10 pm, attendees were invited to the front floor to demonstrate their dance moves after which the event came to an end.
